I strongly dislike saying goodbye to people, and seem to be doing it frequently these days. I just got back from a impromptu road to trip down to Samford to say goodbye to Allison. It was fun while it lasted, but, as the trend will go, I had to eventually say goodbye to her. It is weird being like "Well, I am taking off to Europe for 83 days...guess I will see you when I get back...in December...don't forget me..." Goodbye's suck. However, a really good friend of mine told me this the other day.
"There are no goodbyes, only backwards hellos".
So, For all of those to whom I don't get to say a personal goodbye to, I instead say "Olleh". whether you are a hugger, or a hand shaker, or any other kind of awkward goodbye, just know that I will miss you while I am gone.
